We bet your yearbook photo probably didn’t look like this -- and therein lies the problem for one Colorado teen who's had her racy senior picture rejected by a school’s yearbook committee.

The Durango High School yearbook staff thought the image of 18-year-old Sydney Spies perched on steps, bearing her belly and wearing a short skirt was inappropriate.

“We are an award-winning yearbook,” yearbook editor Brian Jaramillo told the Durango Herald newspaper. “We don’t want to diminish the quality with something that can be seen as unprofessional."

In an interview with NBC's "Today" show, Spies said the photo represents who she is: "I want to be a model. I’m a dancer, and I feel like administration isn’t allowing me to show that."
