Newborn twin girls so far don't have much in common. These sisters not only have different birth dates, the two were born in different years!
HLN affiliate WFLA reports that Jenna and Leah Bear started off their surprise appearances by arriving a month ahead of their due date. Apparently these girls were all about timing. Jenna was born at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2011 while sister Leah came into the world at 12:00 a.m. January 1, 2012.
That earned the twins two impressive honors: They are the first and the last baby born in each year for their Florida county.
The twins could apparently care less though, they slept through the whole press conference about their unique "exit strategy." Their surgeon said these were his very first New Year’s babies. He joked that mom and dad will only get one extra tax write-off for the year now.
The twin's mom is a doctor too and says she knows how rare their situation is. Jocelyn Bear says she tells her girls apart by Jenna’s chubby cheeks. She said "Pappa Bear" dad Blake is happy the twins are healthy, and was looking forward to introducing them to their 18-month-old sister Natalie.
That's a lot of cubs in one den!
