Octomom's house in foreclosure

“Octomom” Nadya Suleman told Dr. Drew Tuesday night that her house is currently in foreclosure.

"I`m hopeful that it will sell," she said after explaining that her friend and real estate agent will be doing a short sale on the home. "I won`t make anything off of it. So, the goal … will be to move or lease a home.”

Dr. Drew asked Suleman for an estimate on how much it is every month to raise her 14 kids. “Like, $12,000?” he inquired.

Suleman responded, “No. I`ve reduced it significantly. So, unfortunately, I have not been able to keep up with the house payments.”

Dr. Drew stated, “your net now is like $5,000 a month after taxes … without a house payment?"

“Right,” Suleman replied.

Later, Dr. Drew asked Suleman if she was fearful of not being able to meet all of her children's attachment needs.

“I`m absolutely not,” she said. "I`m not at all … there`s always the unique differences in mothers and families … I`ve learned so much through my children and how to parent. And I had the experience of being, unfortunately, being a permissive and diligent parent with my older ones. I`ve seen how that can inadvertently handicap a child. And by spoiling a child, it can destroy them, really.”

Dr. Drew interjected, “so, you have a household where the octuplets are going to be extremely regimented? Are they going to resent the older kids?"

Suleman replied, “I think they`re going to be the happiest, most religious children I have raised, because they are so grateful for every little thing. And that`s one of the ingredients – I believed I had this enlightenment a couple of months ago – a formula for happiness, and one of which is huge. It`s being grateful. I think that the more grateful we are for the littlest things in our life, the happier we really are.”

Near the end of the interview, Suleman said she has been given the opportunity to be followed and documented as a fitness trainer. “The man [who is giving me the opportunity] wants to pitch it to networks,” she said.

Suleman also noted that she has the opportunity to work with a trainer who was an Olympic boxing champion. “He`s actually helping me build a clientele, and he`s helping me build a business,” she said.

Octomom says she will appear in her own show on Ustream as well.

Dr. Drew reminded Suleman though that if she ever is severely strapped for money, that she is entitled to public funds. “We`ll [have you] come on and talk about that if you ever get to that point,” he said. “You`re entitled to it if things really don`t work out. There`s a bunch of kids here. It`s not about you, it`s about those kids.”

Suleman says she does not want handouts from people because she “doesn`t want to be a burden on anybody.”
