Lawrence Brewer was put to death in Texas Wednesday for killing a man. 10 years ago, Brewer chained James Byrd Jr. to his truck and dragged him to his death.

As is customary, prison officials asked Brewer what he would like for his last meal Here's what he ordered, and what they delivered to him:

- Two chicken fried steaks
- a triple-meat bacon cheeseburger
- a cheese omelet
- a large bowl of fried okra
- 3 fajitas
- a pint of ice cream
- a pound of barbecue
- peanut butter fudge with crushed peanuts
- a meat lovers pizza
- three root beers

He didn't touch any of it.

This didn't sit well with one State Senator. So now, Texas will no longer offer death row inmates a special last meal. They'll get the same meal as all the other inmates are eating.

In an open letter to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State senator John Whitmire said, "It is entirely inappropriate to give a person sentenced to death such a privilege. One which the perpetrator did not provide to their victim."
