Insurance may not cover East Coast Quake damage

We hope any damage is small, but, people whose homes were damaged in yesterday's earthquake, were probably not covered by insurance.

East coasters have probably never even considered earthquake insurance. It's often a separate rider, maybe 200 bucks or so annually for a home. But standard homeowners doesn't cover quake damage. So if your home or small business was damaged, You may end up having to pay yourself to fix it.

Any damage to your car might be covered, if you went the extra mile and paid for comprehensive insurance.

If you think you might want to get earthquake insurance, check The California earthquakeauthority.com. Even if you aren't from CA they're the experts on this type of coverage. A good resource for FAQ's.
