Why do women stay in polygamist sects?

Former polygamist leader Warren Jeffs could spend the rest of his life in jail if he's convicted on charges of child sexual assault.

As head of the The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints' polygamist sect, Jeffs had multiple wives and could also pick brides for other church elders.

In the clip above, Dr. Drew talks to two women who both grew up in polygamists households.

Update: Jury selection continues in the child sex abuse trial of polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs today. And on Tuesday's show, Dr Drew will talk with women who lived in one of these secret sects, including Flora Jessop, a former member of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints. What was it like? Did they feel trapped? How did they finally get out? And why aren’t the women being held responsible for the sexual abuse of their young girls? Plus, Dr. Drew tries to understand how it’s even possible these isolated compounds still exist.

It all happens Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HLN.
