We all can be consumed by celebrity behavior almost every day of our lives.
Sometimes though, young people will model some of the stars’ narcissistic behavior.
In 2009, Dr. Drew co-authored the first academic study on celebrities and narcissism in a book entitled "The Mirror Effect: How Celebrity Narcissism is Seducing America."
“We are not giving them the tools to be regulated to be emotionally whole and they're acting out their envy and idolizing people … modeling their behavior after people that are not healthy,” Dr. Drew said.
In his interview with Morning Express’ Robin Meade, he further explained how people have lost the priority of interpersonal experiences.
“Our families are falling apart,” Dr. Drew stated. “We don't get our needs met emotionally in childhood …and when you feel empty… it's very easy for you to evoke envy.”
