If you've never interviewed a pig, we can tell you this: It's far from boring.
We knew when this email reply to our inquiry for interview with Brazilian Instagram pig celeb Jamon came, it was going to be a good time: "Do you want to send some questions and I can answer what it's like to live in a big city with my human parents? Snout kisses for you, Jamon The Pig."
What a friendly little guy!
Best of all, Jamon was quite obliging and more than willing to share his celebrity life with us.
HLN: How old are you, and how did you meet your human mom?
Jamon: I'm one year and two months old! Mom always wanted to have a pet pig since her dogs passed away, and she was looking for a pet that has a long life and could be a companion, just like a dog. So she researched for almost six months about pet pigs, how to raise them, difficulties, food, diseases, vets and regulations. My dad saw all this interest and had an idea on Valentine's Day (here in Brazil it happens in June), and so he brought me home. It was love at first sight.
HLN: When did you start posting pictures on Instagram?
Jamon: This is funny, my parents were flooding their Instagram and Facebook profiles with pictures of me and realized that not all of their friends wanted to know all the steps of their new pig son. So they created an Instagram account for me and I started to post my discoveries, activities, the friends I made, and my costumes there. I love to do it, because I can bring one smile a day to a friend, and this makes my day.
HLN: What is the best part of being a pig?
Jamon: A lot of things! Do you have time? ;o)
I have one big bed just for me with a lot of blankets, I eat six times a day, I'm always trying new fruits and vegetables, and I have a lot of little human friends that come to my house, play with me and sometimes sleep in the same bed as me! I receive a lot of belly rubs daily, and kisses and hugs from my parents. I don't sweat, so don't smell. I can sleep all day long because I don't work. With my costumes I can be anything and anyone I want to and with this, I can bring joy and fun to my friends. And every night I watch "House" with my parents and my brother Nero The Pig.
HLN: What are your favorite places to go in Brazil?
Jamon: My favorite place in Brazil definitely is Parque do Ibirapuera in São Paulo, which is a huge park with a lot of places to play. And I love to go to the countryside to visit my parents in the farm.
HLN: What’s your favorite costume you’ve worn in your Instagram pictures?
Jamon: I don't think I have a favorite one, because I love them all. But I liked becoming a turtle and a pirate.
