Oscar Pistorius has been forced to confront gruesome images and graphic testimony during the second week of his murder trial in South Africa, as witnesses described how his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, died on Valentine's Day 2013.
Pistorius was captured on camera bowing his head and covering his ears. Producers inside the courtroom even said they heard him "retch repeatedly" during some testimony. At one point, a bright green bucket was placed at his feet in case he got sick again.
Pistorius, a double-amputee who earned the nickname "Blade Runner" while competing as an Olympic sprinter, has pleaded not guilty to premeditated murder. He has never denied shooting Steenkamp, but insists he did so after mistaking her for an intruder. Prosecutors, however, allege Pistorius intentionally shot Steenkamp following a heated argument in the early morning hours of February 14, 2013.
