If you didn't know about Kacey Musgraves before this weekend -- you definitely do now.
The rising country music star won two Grammys on Sunday night, including Best Country Album.
But Musgraves got our attention earlier in the night when she performed her song "Follow Your Arrow" wearing light-up boots. (Plus, her mellow song followed a strobe light-enhanced performance by Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar, and the stark contrast had the Internet buzzing.)
Musgraves' background, including a small-town past with Nashville ties, isn't uncommon among artists in her genre, but she is anything but a traditional country star. Her songs don't include lyrics about trucks and girls in tight jeans. Instead, the Texas native sings about being yourself, even if that means rolling up a joint or kissing lots of girls "if that's something you're into."
Get to know the up-and-coming country star, before her songs take over the radio.
