Before there was "American Idol," "America's Got Talent" or "The Voice," there was "Star Search."
From 1983 to 1995, "Star Search" reigned supreme as the premier TV show uncovering hidden talent. It featured wannabe stars competing in seven different categories in hopes of being crowned champion.
The show's 12-year run churned out countless talented champions, but losing wasn't necessarily the end of the line. Some of today's biggest singers were once "Star Search" failures.
