While most kids stop sitting on Santa's lap once they hit middle school, these two brothers have returned to visit St. Nick at the mall for over 30 years.
For Mike Gray's first Christmas, his mom brought him to visit Santa. For four years, he sat alone on Santa's lap until 1984 when his brother Martin was born.
Every Christmas since, the Gray brothers have returned to Santa for a yearly picture. Martin Gray told HLN that the tradition continued mainly to honor his mother, who he described as "an amazing lady who was so good to us."
"It's a no-brainer to continue to do something that makes her so happy," Gray said. He confessed that he was picked on by friends a little bit for the photos, but he kept on taking them every year.
As they got older, the Gray brothers said that Santa's most frequently asked question was "Where are your children?" Even as they got too big for Santa's lap and Martin moved away to college, the brothers still made sure to meet up for the yearly picture.
More than three decades since the first picture was taken, the brothers' children have joined them on Santa's lap.
