It's splitsville for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.
The young stars confirmed to Showbiz Tonight on Monday that they are no longer engaged. Hemsworth, 23, and Cyrus, 20, have gone through a tumultuous year since getting engaged in 2012, with controversy surrounding nearly everything Cyrus has done the past year.
From chopping off her hair, performing a raunchy version of her hit, "We Can't Stop" at the MTV VMAs, to releasing a music video for her latest single, "Wrecking Ball" that features her nude and licking a sledgehammer -- rumors have flown that Cyrus was becoming increasingly distant from her fiancé.
The pair met while shooting 2010's "The Last Song" and quickly became an off-screen couple during filming. Hemsworth eventually popped the question with a 3.5-carat Neil Lane engagement ring, though they decided to postpone their nuptials earlier this year. They have been spotted apart more often than not during the past year.
Neither star has revealed any further details behind the split.
