A gruesome discovery was made at a Fall River, Massachusetts home 121 years ago today.
The bodies of Andrew Borden and his wife, Abby, were found hacked to death. Their daughter, Lizzie Borden, was promptly arrested and tried for double murder. Although she was acquitted of the crimes, the concept of a possible female murderer made Borden a household name for years to come.
The Borden murders aren’t the only cases that have gone cold. Over the years, there have been a number of investigations, vanishing acts and murders that have stumped police.
