This little kitten will break your heart. Freida is what her rescuers have termed a "throw away" kitty. She was found in April in a ditch, barely clinging to life. Her bones were thin, her fur matted down, and after some tests it was revealed she is also anemic and has growth problems.
Still, the people at Forgotten Felines of Maine are determined to give their little fighter a chance at a good life. Because her matted fur was bothering her so much, vets shaved most of Freida's body. Now, she wears stylish sweaters to keep warm and protect her sensitive skin. The result is both adorable and heartbreaking -- a beautiful animal rescued from an ugly fate of abandonment.
Forgotten Felines of Maine is trying to raise money to pay for Freida's medical bills. "She will never be cured," its fundraising page reads, "But she can be happy and live a good life." So far, more than 100 people have chipped in to aid Freida's recovery.
