Lentil, the adorable little cleft palate puppy, is doing some big things. After stealing the Internet's heart, gaining a loyal and loving following of thousands, and even having a festival thrown in his name, Lentil is continuing his mission of bringing joy and understanding to children with cranio-facial differences.
Recently, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia held their annual "Day of Beauty." More than 30 young patients from the hospital's Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery enjoyed a day of pampering, manicures, haircuts, highlights and good times. The event was hosted by the kind folks at Salon L'Etoile in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, and Lentil was a guest of honor! And if there's anything cuter then Lentil by himself, it's Lentil in the company of smiling children.
One patient in particular, Daniel Pfeiffer, has formed a special bond with Lentil. CNN and HLN are following Lentil as he prepares for surgery to correct his cleft palate (not cosmetically, just enough to keep him healthy), and the CNN team got to spend some time with Lentil and with Daniel and his family. One CNN producer confirmed what we all pretty much know: "Lentil is a magical dog."
