Most people get ready for the opening weekend of a big blockbuster sequel by buying tickets in advance, ganging up with their friends, or maybe going to a midnight showing. Then you have a guy like Archie Whitehead. He prefers to celebrate the occasion in a totally different way -- by making his own Mark 7 armor from scratch. You know, no big deal.
The 17-year-old crafted his superhero gear from basic stuff: resin, fiberglass and eva foam. On his Facebook page, Whitehead talks about the process of crafting the suit and shows photos of all of the individual pieces.
In October 2012, Whitehead founded Blackout Props, which means he will likely be creating many more costumes in the future. And if you're dying to have your own Iron Man suit, maybe you'll get lucky enough to commission him to work on yours.
