This year's Oscar nominees read like a list of who's who in Hollywood, with some of the biggest stars on the planet up for cinema's highest honors.

Actors such as Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Chastain have worked for years to get to where they are now, but almost all of them had very humble beginnings in showbiz.
