When jurors deliberate whether Jodi Arias is guilty of murder in the killing of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, one of the toughest issues they will have to decide is whether his death was premeditated.
This week, Arias is expected to testify about the circumstances surrounding her road trip from Yreka, California, to Alexander's home in Mesa, Arizona.
Prosecutor Juan Martinez says Arias set out on the road trip June 2, 2008, intending to kill in premeditation.

Arias called Alexander four times between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.
These calls were all very short, the longest 17 seconds.

Redding, California
At 8:04 a.m., Arias rented a car at Budget Rent A Car. The rental agent testified Arias had blonde hair at the time. She refused the first car he offered her because it was red. Instead, she rented a white Ford Focus. She allegedly wanted a car that wouldn't stand out. She also told the rental agent she would be using the car locally. According to the rental agreement, the car was supposed to be returned on Friday, June 6, around 8 a.m.

Monterey, California
Arias made three deposits to different accounts at a Washington Mutual branch:
Arias called Alexander twice:
Arias' ex-boyfriend, Darryl Brewer, testified Arias stopped by his house in Monterey, California, on June 3, 2008. Brewer said he gave Arias two gas cans, because she needed them for a long road trip. In Session's legal experts say this could be evidence of premeditation, because Arias may have been trying to cover her tracks, using the gas cans so she would not have to buy gas in Mesa, where Alexander lived.
Salinas, California
At 3:22 p.m., Arias goes shopping at a Wal-Mart and buys two facial cleansers and three unidentified items. The sale total was $43.90 and she paid cash.

She may have filed up her rental car and the gas tanks with fuel.
Ryan Burns testified Arias called him around 9 or 10 p.m. on June 3, 2008. She told him she was on her way to Utah. Burns expected her to arrive around 9 a.m. the next morning, Wednesday, June 4.
June 4, 2008, the day Alexander died:
Mesa, Arizona
Arias told police she arrived at Alexander's house at 4 a.m. She says Alexander was still up waiting for her and watching YouTube videos. The police search of Alexander's computer confirms it was in use at that time. Arias says Alexander wanted to have sex, but she was tired, so they went to bed.
At 1 p.m., Arias says she and Alexander woke up and had sex. They also took nude photos of each other in his bedroom. Later, she says, they had rough sex in his home office.
At 5:22 p.m., Arias began taking pictures of Alexander in the shower.
Investigators retrieved a total of 19 images from the camera.

JUNE 5, 2008:
West Jordan, Utah
Between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m, Burns says Arias arrived in West Jordan, about 700 miles from her starting point.
Ryan testified he noticed her hair was dark brown; her hair had been blonde when they met. He also notices cuts and bandages on her fingers. She tells him she cut her fingers at the Margaritaville restaurant where she worked. However, there is no Margaritaville in or near Yreka.
At noon, Burns and Arias go to a business meeting. She follows him there in her rental car. On the way, she's pulled over because her license plate is upside down, and the patrol officer gives her a warning. After the meeting, they go back to Burns' house, where they watch a movie and "make out."
At 7 p.m., Burns and Arias go to another business meeting. Again, they go in separate cars. After the meeting, Arias gives a friend, Leslie Udy, a ride to dinner. Udy says Arias seemed fine and that they talked about Arias' breakup with Alexander before joining Burns and his friends for dinner.
Around 11 p.m., Arias and Burns go back to his house. They take a nap and when they wake up, they begin making out again. Burns says their contact stopped short of all-out sexual activity. He also says she was much stronger than she looked. Arias left Burns' house sometime after midnight.

The rental agent testified that the car appeared to have "Kool-Aid" stains on the passenger seat and back seat and all the floor mats were gone.
In all, Arias traveled 2,834 miles.
She was arrested a little more than a month later, on July 15, 2008.
