The life of a lobsterman has never been easy. But like a lot of people these days, lobstermen are working a lot harder for a lot less. There are a whole bunch of reasons -- the bad economy, government regulations, the price of gas -- the list goes on and on. But one big reason simply comes down to price. Even though you pay a lot for lobster at a restaurant -- the lobstermen hardly make a thing. The lobster passes several hands before it reaches your plate and each hand takes a cut.
But, despite the low pay, the long hours and the time away from their families, these lobstermen continue. They continue because it's in their blood. They continue because it's a family tradition. They continue because they love it.
