Ladies, how does a 36-minute work day sound? Throw in a daily 46-minute nap, a little over an hour of TV & exercise, an hour and a half of socializing and then nearly two hours of "intimate relations" -- would that be your "perfect day?"
A new study from researchers at Georgia Institute of Technology and a German university shows a woman's "perfect day" looks nothing like a real day. Based on interviews with more than 900 women, all around 38 years old, they discovered personal interaction is far more important than work. But it's not all bon-bons and soap operas women are looking for. Exercise, meditation, even housework take up much of this fantasy day, but it's time spent with friends and lovers that eat up the most minutes.
Could you actually live this life? Probably not, but researchers say, "The results show how a paradigm shift away from a focus on increasing Gross Domestic Product towards greater well-being at the macro level could play out at the micro level with potential consequences for how we might live our day-to-day lives."
Basically, it looks like women want a vastly different life than they currently have and those attitudes could someday have an impact in the real world. Probably not a 38-minute workday impact -- not anytime soon anyway.
