They are heroes all, women and men who have faced that dreaded monster -- breast cancer -- and beaten it like an evil villain.
Marvel Comics and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure have teamed up this month to illustrate the super-heroic battle in ways only they can: eight variant superhero comic book covers from such titles as ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Thor’ and more. The covers will all be pink-themed and will help "to raise awareness about the risk of breast cancer to both women and men,” Dan Buckley, publisher & president of Marvel Worldwide said in a press release.
When we think about it, we’ve been marveling at the strength of breast cancer survivors all along. On social media sites, many of you have documented your journeys. People like Twitter user @Shacorea and @Shelbs, who tweeted that she was diagnosed this week. Also, @CancerNavig8tor, Sophia Quintero, @ringobird and @AnneWhitmore.
Know anybody who has faced breast cancer? Leave their names in the comments and we'll be sure to add them to the story.
