Everybody, come see how good they look! Stars at the Daytime Emmys didn't just turn out in style, they turned out in the very latest style, showing off summer trends that are as wearable in real life as they are on the red carpet. Here are the Top 5 trends from this year's Daytime Emmys:
1. Bright, bold colors
If the ladies of daytime can teach you anything, sartorially speaking, it's that you shouldn't be afraid of a little color! Bright pinks, salmons, and reds ruled, and are the perfect solution to a hot summer night. They're also, believe it or not, almost universally flattering, perking up the face and providing a great backdrop for larger-than-life accessories. Hey, if it's good enough for Susan Lucci, it's good enough for us.
2. Serious bling-a-ring
Speaking of larger-than-life, did you check out Jacqueline MacInnes' clutch? Or Chrishell Stause's dressklace (dress + necklace)? Big ol' baubles are never out of style, but the latest incarnations are bigger, badder and more interesting than ever.
3. Daring patterns and textures
Even the most basic dress can go seriously glam with the right texture. This year's frocks were twisted, ruffled, gathered, studded and done up with lace and mesh. You kind of want to just...reach out and touch them! Don't though. They might sic Jack Hanna's alligator on you.
4. Red nails
Nothing adds instant drama to an outfit like a set of bright red talons. Take a cue from Judith Chapman and dress up your tips. Your next trip to the grocery store will be just that more exciting.
5. Sparkles!
Duh. It's an awards show. But as the ladies of "The Talk" showed, sparkles are a the ultimate eye-catcher, whether on the red carpet or on stage. Tiffany Coyne and others showcased a more modern twist, with matte gunmetal textures and mirrored, studded, bedazzled bodices.
