Two Rappers Duke It Out at the BET Awards Show

Atlanta police broke up a fight at the BET Hip-Hop Awards show between rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy Saturday night.  The fight allegedly started backstage and moved into the parking lot of the Atlanta Civic Center, where the show was being taped. Police say there were no arrests or serious injuries.

BET released the below statement in regards to the incident:

Samuel L. Jackson's Video Goes Viral

Samuel L. Jackson's Video Goes Viral

Actor Samuel L. Jackson has been getting a lot of coverage this week. No, it's not a new movie he's starring in...it's a video gone viral that Jackson created. The four minute web video titled “Wake the F*** Up” speaks directly to 2008 Obama supporters, encouraging them to get excited about November’s upcoming election. Jackson parodies his own audio recording of the mock children's book, "Go the F*** to Sleep."

Micro-apartments—affordable or too small?

New York started the trend earlier this year with seats that fold into beds and bed that turn into tables. Now, San Francisco may be hopping onboard the “micro-apartments” train. Currently, the minimum square footage required for a living space is 220 feet (or 290 total with bathroom, kitchen and closet space).  Now, there’s an ordinance aimed at shrinking that down even more.

If the Board of Supervisors passes the ordinance, an efficiency apartment of 150 square feet (220 total) would meet the building code requirement. San Francisco officials who support the plan argue the tiny apartments will help create a more affordable housing option geared towards the Bay Area’s single population. Right now, the proposed units’ starting rent is estimated at $1,200. Currently, CNNMoney estimates the median rent at $1,951. the steep prices are only behind New York’s. Other estimates have the average rent for a studio apartment at an even higher rate than that.

"Swirling" Stars in Hollywood!

"Swirling" Stars in Hollywood!

In the words of Michael Jackson, it doesn’t matter if you're black or white. According to Christelyn Karazin, the author of Swirling: How to Date, Mate, and Relate Mixing Race, Culture, and Creed, the King of Pop was right. Weekend Express had the opportunity to sit down with Karazin, who wrote the book as a how to guide for interracial relationships after navigating the waters with her now husband. She says the dating world is too tough for women already; they should be open to dating outside their race to find Mr. Right!

Karazin defines swirling as “the delicious fusion of races,” helping blend two separate cultures to create an entirely different story. A Census report released in April showed the number of interracial couples in the United States has hit an all-time high. Roughly 18 percent of opposite-sex unmarried couples and 21 percent of same-sex unmarried couples identify themselves as interracial.

Cute pictures of puppies, kittens and other baby animals may help you perform better at work! Check out the story below!
