Through the power of social media and a photo that attracted thousands of shares, the woman dubbed by the media as the “Burger King Baby” finally reunited with the woman who abandoned her as a baby at a restaurant 27 years ago.

“It's better than what I thought,” Katheryn Deprill told HLN affiliate WFMZ after reuniting with her birth mother just before 2:00 p.m. Monday in the office of attorney John Waldron.

HLN’s Nancy Grace is outraged that Malaysia Airlines informed victims’ families through a text message that the passengers aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 likely didn’t survive.

The airline issued a statement on its decision to inform victims' families of their loved ones' fate with a text message, following widespread criticism of that move. "We informed the majority of the families in advance of the Prime Minister’s statement in person and by telephone. SMSs were used only as an additional means of communicating with the families," the statement read.

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify women in photographs that were recovered in the possession of a serial murder suspect dubbed by the media as the “Grim Sleeper.”

In his final statement before his execution, Texas death row inmate Ray Jasper thanked the Christian hip hop community and expressed love for his daughter, but he said nothing about his victim or the crime for which he was sentenced to death.

Jasper—who recently lamented in a letter to Gawker that the state “has resolved to kill me like some kind of rabid dog”—was executed by lethal injection Wednesday in Huntsville and was pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m.
