A 45-year-old elementary school coach is being held on suspicion of first degree murder after police in Missouri confirmed Wednesday they discovered a young female body believed to be that of missing 10-year-old Hailey Owens.
The 10-year-old was reported missing Tuesday evening after witnesses told police they saw a man in a gold-colored 2008 Ford Ranger driving down the street several times before approaching Hailey and pulling her into his truck just before 5:00 p.m.
Fred Haynes, father of 23-year-old murder victim Darlene Haynes, brought his daughter’s ashes to court today for the sentencing hearing against her convicted killer.
Haynes spent the past four weeks attending each day of the trial of Julie Corey, 29, convicted last week of murdering Darlene Haynes and then removing Haynes’ fetus from her womb and trying to pass off the infant as her own.
After more than 18 hours of deliberations, the Michael Dunn jury said they “hit a wall” for the day after asking the judge: “Is it possible to not reach a verdict on one count and reach a verdict on the other counts?"
“What is wrong with this jury?” asked Nancy Grace.
