Authorities say an Illinois limo driver was arrested for allegedly driving drunk while transporting 23 high school students to their prom in a party bus.
According to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, 54-year-old Richard Madison was driving the Oswego East High School students to prom in unincorporated Glen Ellyn on Saturday night. Some of the students became concerned about his "erratic driving" and called their parents. Two off-duty police officers who were working as security at the event were notified and they contacted the sheriff's office.
Police say a Sacramento woman sat in front of a county jail for hours, intent on assaulting an officer to get arrested and be put in jail, where she would be forced to stop smoking cigarettes, CBS13 reported.
Etta Lopez, 31, was charged with assaulting a police officer.
