Family members and friends are intensifying efforts to find a missing 28-year-old man last seen nearly a week ago.

Tom Hecht disappeared around 10:30 pm last Saturday leaving a bar called Rosie’s on Water in downtown Milwaukee, according to a website devoted to the search. He had been participating in a pub crawl and was wearing a green St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt and green party beads. Nobody knows where he went from there.

Anchorage police have announced an arrest in connection with the abduction of an 18-year-old barista from a coffee hut in early February.

Authorities will not say how they believe 34-year-old Israel Keyes is related to the disappearance of Samantha Koenig, and the affidavit detailing the probable cause for his arrest is sealed. Keyes was arrested in Lufkin, Texas on Tuesday. Two Anchorage detectives were in the state this week as part of the investigation.

The mother of missing Washington toddler Sky Metalwala did not show up for a hearing Friday regarding custody of her other child. Julia Biryukova was expected to appear in court to sign off on an agreement with Solomon Metalwala, the father of 2-year-old Sky and 5-year-old Maile, according to Metalwala's attorney.

Metalwala has had custody of Maile since mid-December. Biryukova reported Sky missing on Nov. 6, claiming that he disappeared after she left him in her car while she walked to get help when she ran out of gas. Police have said the vehicle had gas in it when they responded to the scene, and a spokesperson said Wednesday that Biryukova still has not answered their questions about what happened to her son.

The father of a missing Detroit toddler has been charged with her murder after prosecutors called his claim that she was abducted by carjackers “totally inconsistent with the facts.”

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Wednesday that D’Andre Lane is charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse in the Dec. 2011 disappearance of two-year-old Bianca Jones. If convicted of murder, he could face life in prison without parole.
