What Happened to Missing Mother Latrice Maze?

Latrice Maze, a mother devoted to her five children, loved family get-togethers on Sundays. But the last few Sundays, Maze has been missing from the family gatherings in Grand Rapids, Michigan. No one has seen the 26-year-old since March 19 at about noon. That’s the last reported sighting of Maze on the corner of Division and Burton Streets near her residence. When she didn’t pick up her daughter from elementary school on March 20, her family knew something was wrong. Grand Rapids Police, investigating the case, also confirm Maze missed an appointment.  Her family says it was routine for the mother of five to pick up her little girl at about 3:30 p.m. and if Maze couldn’t make it, her mother or her sister would step in. When the elementary school called to report that Maze never showed up, her family knew something was wrong and called police at approximately 1:30 p.m. to report her missing. 

Evidence Points to Murder, But Still No Body

Christmas was Tammy Salle’s favorite holiday. The mother of two, from Anaconda, Montana, loved to decorate the entire house, make Christmas truffle cookies and her famous chocolate pie. So when Christmas Eve 2012 arrived and Salle never showed up, as promised, to make cookies and chocolate pie with her 18-year-old daughter, the family knew something was wrong. Within days a missing persons report would be filed. Tammy Salle had vanished without a trace.

17-year-old Jasmine Benjamin had a bright future ahead of her and dreams of helping others by becoming a nurse like her mother, enrolling in the nursing program at Valdosta State University in Georgia. But just months into her first semester as a freshman and just days before Thanksgiving, Benjamin was found dead at her dorm, Georgia Hall. It was 4:30 p.m. on Sunday November 18 when Benjamin’s body was discovered on a couch in a common study room area

From Death by Natural Causes to Homicide 

Drew Peterson moved one step closer to facing trial for his third wife’s murder Thursday when an Illinois appellate court ruled that prosecutors can use statements made by the victim and Peterson’s still-missing fourth wife against him.

Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio, was found dead in her bathtub on March 1, 2004 and a coroner’s jury concluded that her cause of death was accidental drowning. The case received new scrutiny after his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, vanished in October 2007.

A former neighbor of George Zimmerman said Thursday that the neighborhood watch captain was one of the first people to come and assist her after her home was broken into last summer.

Olivia Bertalan told HLN’s Nancy Grace that the she thinks some of the negative assumptions being made about Zimmerman following the death of Trayvon Martin are “crazy” and the threats against him are “horrifying.”

One month after an unarmed Florida teen was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch captain, HLN’s Nancy Grace is demanding justice.

“I would have at least expected an arrest to be made,” Grace said Monday of the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin by 28-year-old George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida on Feb. 26. No charges have been filed against Zimmerman, who claimed he acted in self-defense, but a special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate the incident.

The Aliahna Lemmon Benefit Fund has been set up for the family of murdered 9-year-old girl, Aliahna Lemmon. Monies donated to the fund will be turned over to the family for expenses and counseling.

Tragic Ending
The search for the missing Indiana girl ended in tragedy when parts of Aliahna's body were recovered near the family home in Ft. Wayne. According to a probable cause affidavit, the alleged killer disposed some of her dismembered remains in a dumpster and hid the rest, her head, hands and feet, in his freezer. Police say trusted family friend, Michael Plumadore, who has a criminal record in three states, has been charged with her murder after he allegedly confessed to repeatedly striking her in the head with a brick and then later dismembering her body with a hacksaw.

A Utah woman’s Facebook friends allegedly saved her from captivity by an abusive boyfriend after she posted a call for help on the social media site Saturday, according to local news reports.

"Hello. Is anyone out there? I am having a serious problem and me and [my son] will be dead by morning," she wrote on her Facebook page, according to police.

Authorities in Indianapolis, Indiana, this week were trying to locate a mother known as “Jen” who reportedly left her one-year-old son with a babysitter and never came back to pick him up.

The father accused of killing a toddler whose body was found strapped in her car seat and partially submerged in a stream last week has decided not to fight extradition from California to New Jersey.

27-year-old Arthur E. Morgan III was arrested Tuesday in San Diego after an eight-day national manhunt. Morgan has been charged with murder in the November 21 death of 2-year-old Tierra Morgan-Glover.
