Police: Grandmother admits to killing daughter & granddaughter

WINCHESTER, KENTUCKY – A grandmother has been charged with two counts of murder for allegedly stabbing her daughter and 23-month-old granddaughter to death before cutting her wrists and neck, according to police.

Lilly Stanton, 48, was taken by helicopter the University of Kentucky Medical Center after police say she suffered self-inflicted wounds to her wrist and neck. She is currently being treated for her injuries and is under 24-hour guard by police. Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said she will be transferred to the Clark County Jail once she’s released from the hospital.

Man charged with murder in teen cheerleader’s disappearance

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the disappearance 15-year-old Sierra LaMar who disappeared on her way to a school bus stop.

Antolin Garcia-Torres, 21, has been booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on one count of murder and one count of kidnapping. At a press conference today, Sheriff Laurie Smith said that Garcia-Torres is responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Sierra “based on direct and circumstantial evidence including forensics analysis.”

Police to return to Isabel Celis’ neighborhood

Police said Monday they will return to the neighborhood where a 6-year-old Tucson girl was reported missing a month ago in hopes of speaking with residents who may not have been interviewed when the area was originally canvassed.

Tucson Police Lt. Fabian Pacheco told reporters at an afternoon press conference that officers investigating the disappearance of Isabel Celis also plan to re-interview all of the Level 2 and Level 3 sex offenders nearby whose crimes targeted children under 10 years old. They have spoken to more than 540 registered sex offenders since Isabel was reported missing on April 21.

Mom of 5 found stabbed in bedroom

COTTONWOOD, CA – The body of Karen Duenas, a mother of five and college instructor, was discovered by her husband in the bedroom of their upscale home. Police say she was stabbed to death multiple times.

Karen Duenas’ husband, Mark Duenas, called 911 in the early morning hours of May 5th to report he found his wife with a large gash in her chest. Mark Duenas told the 911 dispatcher that there was “blood everywhere.” The murdered mother of five was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband told police he didn’t know what happened to her.

Cops: Body of 6-month-old infant stuffed in fridge

Houston, Texas - Police make a gruesome discovery after finding a 6-month-old infant’s body in a refrigerator at his father’s home.

On May 2nd, the infant’s father, Joseph Mouton, called 911 and stated he was having suicidal thoughts, according to police.

Manhunt for groom after newlywed bride’s murder

A 30-year-old Chicago man is wanted for murder after police say his new bride was found dead in her bathtub days after their wedding, still wearing the dress she had worn to the reception celebration.

According to police, Arnoldo Jimenez and 26-year-old Estrella Carrera married at city hall in Chicago on Friday, May 11 and then went out to celebrate with friends and family that night. Both were last seen getting out of a rented limo around 4 am on Saturday to return home. Authorities are now asking for the public’s help locating Jimenez, who they say was last known to be driving a black 2006 Maserati sedan.

Police: 17-year-old allegedly admits to killing grandparents

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly drugging his grandparents to death.

On Sunday, May 13th, at 2:23 p.m., police responded to a 911 call. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the bodies of Janet Mae Sweet, 62, and Richard Lee Sweet, 55, inside their home. The bodies were allegedly discovered by family members who travelled to the home to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Mom, 19, accused of burning infant’s genitals with a flat iron

A 19-year-old mom sits behind bars after police say she admitted to burning her 13-month-old son’s genitals with a flat iron, according to the arrest affidavit.

On April 26th, police arrived at the Tahlequah City Hospital in Oklahoma where a baby boy was being treated for several broken bones and severe burns to his genital area.

Boy accused of killing half-sister by hanging her

A 14-year-old boy is behind bars after police accused of him of intentionally hanging his nine-year-old half-sister from a tree, causing her to die.

The unidentified boy has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Coosa Valley Detention Center in Anniston, Alabama.

Cops: 18-year-old girl lit ex-boyfriend's mattress on fire

An 18-year-old girl was arrested after police say she snuck into her ex-boyfriend’s bedroom and lit his mattress on fire because she thought he cheated.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe says Jacqueline Alexandre Rivera’s ex-boyfriend suddenly “woke up in bed and his mattress was on fire.”
