On Thursday, June 21, Jaimee Chamberlain received a phone call every parent dreads. Her 4-year-old son, Carnel, was missing; he was being cared for by her boyfriend at her home near Mount Pleasant, Michigan. According to police, the mother’s boyfriend, Anthony Michael Bennett, who has not been named a suspect, last saw the 4-year-old boy when he was playing in the backyard pool. Tribal police, along with the FBI & several other agencies have been searching lagoons, ponds, & dense wooded areas near the missing 4-year-old boy’s home but have yet to turn up any clues on the boy’s whereabouts.
Tribal police spokesperson Frank Cloutier tells HLN’s Nancy Grace that the mother’s boyfriend, Anthony Michael Bennett, has been ‘minimally cooperative’ with the investigation and will not answer “the simplest of questions” about what happened that night including what time he last saw the 4-year-old boy. Cloutier also says Bennett refused to take a polygraph test. The Nancy Grace show was unable to reach Anthony Michael Bennett for a comment. Jaimee Chamberlain tells HLN’s Nancy Grace that she has taken two polygraph tests and claims she has passed both. When asked if she believes her boyfriend is telling the truth about what happened, Chamberlain says, “The whole situation doesn’t make sense. I have some doubts.”
