After just 6 lessons, our own Robin Meade stepped up to the tee and nearly made a hole-in-one at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf pro-am Monday in Bermuda!

"She’s been a superstar all day," PGA pro (and Meade's coach) Suzy Whaley tells, "She made that putt on No. 6, a 15-footer for birdie, and the shot on 8 was amazing. She’s contributed all day long."

Women getting in on the 'business' of golf

Women getting in on the 'business' of golf

Do you realize how many business deals are made on the golf course?  Makes you wonder -- if I'm not out there schmoozing with the boss, am I missing promotions?

PGA pro Suzy Whaley shows your fellow viewer Kristen Sodemann and me how time on the course could equal quality time with clients.

In golf your 'handicap' is a good thing!

In golf your 'handicap' is a good thing!

Get this:  If you took up golf today, once you had the basics down, you could play in the same game as Tiger Woods and still hold your own!  No matter what your skill level... thanks to your 'handicap.'

You've heard of a golf handicap right?  It's the system that compensates for your level of expertise... no matter WHO you play with.

Are misconceptions keeping you off the course

Are misconceptions keeping you off the course

Some misconceptions about golf may be keeping a lot of women from playing and that could be keeping them from the big business deals that are made during the game!  For example you may think:

  • Golf courses are not accessible to female players
  • Golf is too expensive
  • You have to be an experienced player to get on the course
Well, I hit the links with one of your fellow viewers, Kristen Sodemann and we got the truth from PGA pro Suzy Whaley

New golfers: Don't fear the driving range

New golfers: Don't fear the driving range

I'm still a new golfer... and I get intimidated at the driving range.  Do you?  I'm worried that people laughing when I just totally wiff and miss the ball!

PGA pro Suzy Whaley, one of the few women to ever qualify to play against the men for a PGA event, had the task of helping teach me and Kristen Sodemann (one of your fellow viewers) some golf basics.  When it comes to the driving range she has three pieces of advice:

Athletes get naked for 'ESPN the Magazine'

ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue” is here… let the controversy begin! It is extremely revealing… Extremely! There are four different covers featuring soccer star Hope Solo, Olympic Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, NBA rookie-of-the-year Blake Griffin and New York Met Jose Reyes. Along with those 4, there are 18 other athletes who pose very nude, with their naughty parts barely covered in the “Bodies We Want” section. The difference between the Body Issue and Sports Illustrated’s annual “Swimsuit Issue” is that this issue is said to celebrate athletes, not models. And you probably never thought you’d hear this: SI’s Swimsuit Issue features much more clothing than The Body Issue.

Tiger Woods has signed his first major endorsement deal since his marriage scandal… and this one is a biggie! Rolex has announced a partnership with the embattled golfer. Citing Tiger’s “exceptional stature," the folks at Rolex believe Tiger “still has a long career ahead of him.” They also say they are committed to accompanying Tiger “in his new challenges.” Watchmaker Tag Heuer dropped Woods 2 months ago. Golfers like Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus have been associated with Rolex, so Tiger’s in good company. Tiger’s agent says more new endorsements are to come. Tiger tees off today at 3:10pm Eastern Time in the Open in Northern California.
