Occupy Spring! Robin's Tuesday rundown

Occupy Spring! Robin's Tuesday rundown

You morning glory you.  What with the sheet marks and the puffy eyes.  You, who can’t function until cup #3.  You are the light of our lives, the bee in our bonnet, the grump in our Mr. Crankypants.  You are the reason we get here early to start your day with a fire in the belly. Like the fresh smell of deodorant soap, and the aroma of freshly fried doughnuts. You make morning glorious, you morning glory you.

On our show today:

-----
The widow of the man who let dozens of exotic animals loose then killed himself… is getting some of the animals back? I'm pretty sure that's going to outrage some people.

Dog cries for joy at sight of deployed owner

Dog cries for joy at sight of deployed owner

Every morning on Morning Express with Robin Meade, we salute the men & women who serve in the armed forces... and every now and then we salute their K-9 counterparts, too. Some of the most memorable salutes we've featured on HLN involve military working dogs like Ivy and Nugget, who came and visited us on set last year. We're very happy to report that they were both quickly adopted. If you're interested in adopting your own Ivy or Nugget visit the Baghdad Pups section of the the SPCA International's website.

Then there was Bino, who was such a good boy while his human Debbie told us about her organization, Military Working Dog Adoptions and the Hero Dog Awards!  We were very exited to learn that Bino WON the award for dogs in the military category! Voting is now open for this year's awards.

Cycle for Joplin: 20 days from NY to MO

The newest members of the Morning Express Morning Sunshine Wake-Up Club are Todd Greene and Dave duCille. Todd is the president of an organization of the Joplin Expats and Dave is the founder of Central park fitness. They shot their morning greeting in New York City before leaving on a 1500 mile bike from Central Park to Joplin, Missouri.

They're hoping to raise enough money to build storm shelters for 20 families (one family for each day of their ride). You can donate to their cause and follow them on their trip at cycleforjoplin.com.

President Obama: King of the 'nerd prom'

President Obama: King of the 'nerd prom'

The official title was the 98th annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. Many just call it the "Nerd Prom."

It's the time each year when the biggest names in Washington and Hollywood -- including Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian -- get together, and the president let loose with one-liners.

Kelly Lough was holding an umbrella and waiting in the rain for her husband to pull the car up when she got the shock of her life.

Salute to Troops: Isaac Slade from The Fray

Salute to Troops: Isaac Slade from The Fray

The guy who sings "How to Save a Life" says thanks to the troops for keeping all of us safe.

You don't have to be a rock star to send some encouragement to a man or woman serving in the military.  Visit the "Salute to Troops" assignment at iReport.com and tell us about them.  We'd love to feature your salute on Morning Express with Robin Meade.

How natural is natural? One cereal maker is catching flack because the cereal DOES use genetically engineered, non-organic ingredients.
-----
Crazy weather over the weekend, Bob looks at what your area will see today. (I just learned my niece’s prom in Ohio had snow! Snow? Snow!)

No more tossing it onto the lawn: Check out a new place you can sell the stuff your ex gave you—because you never liked it anyway of course!
-----
Get ready for a new chica-bow-bow pill that's touted to work faster than Viagra! Okay. There's a thought to make Monday interesting.

Pardon as I wear out-of-season footwear today. Just giving my boots one last hurrah before summer when they have to go to the back of the closet.
