Massive flooding hits Louisiana

Tropical Storm Isaac was still hovering over Louisiana Wednesday evening prompting curfews in New Orleans and causing more damage then many expected.  Rescue crews have been working around the clock to save stranded residents caught in severe floods. Meteorologists say the pounding rain could last until Friday and could bring 20 inches of rain.

CNN Correspondent Ed Lavandera is in Grand Isle, Louisiana where some residents are stranded due to high floodwaters.

Tommy Kidd is a resident of the Gulf Coast and is under mandatory evacuation. His wife has left but Tommy is staying to work with the Emergency Operations Center. Their house was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina and Tommy explains to Jim Moret why he stayed behind and how people are preparing for this potentially devastating storm.

New Orleans vs. Isaac: Is The Big Easy ready?

Hurricane Isaac made landfall in southeast Louisiana Tuesday evening and the worst of the storm is expected to hit New Orleans late Tuesday night. Experts predict up to 20 inches of rainfall in some areas, along with possible tornadoes.
