L.A. schools go meatless on Mondays

The global Meatless Monday trend has hit California schools!  Now every Monday, the Los Angeles Unified Public School District will be serving 650,000 vegetarian meals in their school cafeterias.  Jane Velez-Mitchell and spokesperson for the Humane Society of the United States Paul Shapiro discuss the potential health, environmental, and animal welfare benefits of this change.

This was met with a firestorm as groups organized protests against the restaurant and others organized an appreciation day in support of Chick-fil-A. 

But most people ignored one major point... what all this fast food does to your health and your waist-line. Weight loss coach Charles D'Angelo has endorsements from Bill Clinton and Richard Simmons among many others. D'Angelo says that in this whole debate we missed an opportunity to talk about another important issue, American obesity.
