No ‘Stand Your Ground’ hearing?

Attorneys for George Zimmerman made a shocking announcement today when they told a judge they’re going to skip the Stand Your Ground hearing, something that could have granted Zimmerman immunity in the Trayvon Martin case.

Zimmerman, who’s accused of shooting the 17-year-old in self-defense, is charged with second degree murder.

Did Zimmerman spend all of his donations?

Did Zimmerman spend all of his donations?

George Zimmerman has raised more than $250,000 in donations so far, according to reports. But his attorney Mark O’Mara says he hasn’t been paid at all and says he may have to ask the state of Florida to consider George Zimmerman indigent. That would mean the state would start paying legal fees.

We know that bail and expenses account for around half of that $250,000. So what happened to the rest of that money?

Zimmerman released from jail again

George Zimmerman is once again out of jail.  Zimmerman posted bail Friday afternoon going through a bail bondsman to post the 10% needed of his million dollar bail.

The judge ruled that Zimmerman could post bail a second time after the court found out he lied about his finances. The judge did have some tough words for the man who shot unarmed teen Trayvon Martin. He said, “the defendant has tried to manipulate the system” and “the money only had to be hidden for a short time for him to leave the country.”

More evidence has been released in the George Zimmerman case. In this new pile of evidence is the official police report where cops seem to blame George Zimmerman saying the shooting of Trayvon Martin could have been avoided. Part of the report reads, “Zimmerman had at least two opportunities to speak with Trayvon in order to diffuse the circumstances surrounding their encounter.”  We are also seeing the results of Zimmerman’s lie detector test in which, “the examinee has told substantially the complete truth.”

What does this new mountain of evidence do to the Zimmerman case? Does it hurt one side more than the other?
