Elizabeth Johnson has been found guilty of charges of unlawful imprisonment and custodial interference of her then 7-month-old son Gabriel. Unlawful imprisonment was a lesser included charge in the first count of kidnapping. The jury left the verdict on kidnapping blank, meaning they either believed she was not guilty or that they couldn't come to a decision. 

The jury deliberated for six hours on Wednesday and came to their decision on the second day of deliberations Thursday afternoon. Johnson was facing a maximum of more than 25 years in prison. 

A jury is weighing their decision in the Baby Gabriel kidnapping trial. Baby Gabriel’s mother, 26-year-old Elizabeth Johnson is charged with kidnapping her son.  Baby Gabriel was last seen three years ago when he was only eight months old. Elizabeth and Baby Gabriel’s father, Logan were locked in a bitter custody battle and when the judge ruled that they had to share custody, Elizabeth took off with Gabriel.

Elizabeth called Logan and told him she had suffocated the infant and tossed him away in a dumpster before she was arrested.  Elizabeth later told police she handed over Gabriel to complete strangers in a San Antonio park.  As of this time, Baby Gabriel has never been found.

Elizabeth Johnson, the mother of missing Baby Gabriel, broke down into tears in the courtroom.  As a police officer read private Myspace messages between Johnson and Baby Gabriel’s father, Logan, she began crying.

Baby Gabriel was last seen three years ago when he was only eight-months-old. Elizabeth took off with Gabriel and drove to San Antonio. She told Logan she suffocated the infant and tossed him into a dumpster. But when police arrested her she changed her story saying she gave Gabriel to a mystery couple.  She is charged with kidnapping her baby.
