Teacher gets 30 days in jail for rape

A Montana teacher will only serve 30 days in jail for the rape of a 14-year-old student. Stacey Rambold was a teacher at Billings Senior High School in Montana. In 2008, Rambold was charged with three counts of sexual intercourse without consent with a 14-year-old student. That student committed suicide just before her 17th birthday.

After her death the prosecution made a deal with Rambold that if he completed a sex offender prosecution and met other requirements after three years the charges would be dismissed.  Rambold agreed and admitted to one of the charges.  But Rambold did not live up to his end of the deal.  He had contact with nieces and nephews and had relationships with women which were both forbidden by the deal.  Because of those violations, the case was brought back to court.

But we are hearing that these delays are part of a deliberate strategy from Jodi Arias and her defense team. Jane debates that with her panel of legal experts.
