The government is rounding up wild horses and burros in Colorado, Nevada and the surrounding area to and moving them to holding pens for auction.  The Bureau of Land Management says they need to do this because of overgrazing, drought and starvation.

But critics say these roundups are unnecessary and the method of using helicopters to round up the animals is cruel.  The Department of the Interior says “The Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management have worked hard to reform the program to advance the humane care and management of America’s wild horses and to protect our public lands.”

A Florida woman is accused of killing a multi-million dollar lottery winner. Dorice “Dee Dee” Moore is on trial for allegedly killing Abraham Shakespeare, a laborer who was living with his mother when he won $31 Million in the Florida lottery back in 2006.

Prosecutors say Moore befriended Shakespeare, pretended she wanted to write a book about him, swindled him out of his money and then killed him. She allegedly shot him twice and buried him in the backyard of her ex-boyfriend’s house.

Jane and her trusty sidekick Rico the Chihuahua embark on a mission to save other animals! Rico is a rescue dog, and there are so many other pets just as sweet as he is who need a home. In our latest installment, Jane and Rico are trying to find a home for Barney.

Aspiring model, Kara Nichols, vanished from her Colorado home on October 9^th. The 19-year-old’s photo has now shown up on a website for a Las Vegas escort service. But police say they don’t believe Kara posted the photo or is even in Nevada. Anyone with information should call Detective Cliff Porter at (719) 520-7227

Jane Velez-Mitchell spoke to Lieutenant Jeff Kramer of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to get the latest in the search for missing Kara Nichols.

Michael David Dunn is facing murder charges after he opened fire on an SUV full of teenagers on Friday night. Dunn pulled his car next to the SUV at a convenient store and, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, he asked them to turn down their music. After words were exchanged, Dunn allegedly opened fire killing 17-year-old Jordan Russell.

Dunn’s attorney says that Dunn opened fire because he was threatened by the teens and he says he saw a gun in the SUV. Dunn has pleaded not-guilty and is being held without bail.

New court documents reveal claims surrounding the now infamous Thanksgiving day brawl between Halle Berry’s ex lover, model Gabriel Aubry, and her fiance, actor Olivier Martinez. Gabriel Aubry has filed legal papers showing the extent of his injuries.  That despite the fact that Gabriel was arrested and charged with battery. He says he’s the victim of an unprovoked attack by Olivier.  He says he was kicked, punched and threatened.  Jane’s got the very latest.
