The victim, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, may have been set up by a family member who asked to borrow some of his Oxycontin. But the victim outsmarted the criminals, setting up a camera that recorded the vicious attack, which took place in his Pennsylvania home.

May 11, 2012 should have been the happiest day of Estrella Carrera's life. Instead it was the last.

30-year-old Arnoldo Jimenez is accused of stabbing his bride, 26-year-old mother of two Estrella Carrera, to death on their wedding night. Her body was found in the bathtub of her Burbank, IL home, still wearing her wedding dress. Police say Jimenez told his sister by phone that he and Carrera had fought, and that he left her bleeding. Charged with first-degree murder, cops believe Jimenez fled to Mexico. They tracked his cell phone from to the border town of Hidalgo, Texas.

Dashcam video shows a crazed gunman shooting point-blank at a police officer. Cops say the suspect, 27-year-old James Lockhart, was pulled over because he had a broken tail light.

Lockhart took off, speeding through a neighborhood before suddenly stopping his car and emerging with a gun. An officer and a police dog were wounded, but both are expected to make a full recovery.

Rebecca Wingo, a 32-year-old mother of two, was gunned down in the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting. Her mother Shirley Wygal tells Jane Velez-Mitchell, "she stood up and looked death in the eye. She knew what was about to happen." Wygal says she saw James Holmes for the first time today in court today, and "was shocked to see how composed he seemed." The shooting suspect faces a whopping 142 charges.

Says Wygal of the shooting victims, "The only bad person in the whole place was the one that had a gun."

Suppliers and restaurants are turning away from pig gestation crates that critics call cruel and abusive. McDonalds, Chipotle, Burger King, and Wendy’s are among some of the restaurants that will phasing out selling pork products from farms that use gestation crates. However, Wal-Mart is still buying pork from farms that force pigs into tiny crates so small they can’t turn around.

Wal-Mart says they offer their consumers a choice: both gestation crate free and gestation raised pork. But critics, like Mercy for Animals say that is like offering a choice between cruelty and non-cruelty.  Mercy for Animals performed an undercover investigation at one farm that uses gestation crates.  WARNING: Some of this video is disturbing.  You can read statements from all parties involved below.

A pre-trial hearing in a murder trial sparked a vicious fist fight outside the courtroom.

Clay Waller is charged with murdering his estranged wife, Jacque, the mother of triplets. Police say Jacque vanished last summer after showing up at Clay’s house. Her body has not been found.

Katherine Jackson's attorney, Perry Sanders, says Katherine did NOT have a stroke and that to his knowledge she was fine and on her way back from Arizona to Los Angeles.

Sanders tells Jane Velez-Mitchell he flew out to Arizona and as far as he knew, Katherine was fine and "cutting it up" like she usually does. He says this was a gigantic misunderstanding that led to a domino effect. Sanders went on to say that Katherine is extremely competent and does a great job raising Michael Jackson's children.

Three generations of Jacksons are now throwing out accusations as the battle continues for Michael Jackson’s millions. The courts have now stepped in to protect Michael Jackson’s three children removing them from Katherine Jackson’s care and appointing Katherine’s other grandson, T.J., guardian.  Katherine Jackson was in Arizona while all of this was going down.

Law enforcement officials say that James Holmes, the man accused of killing 12 people in the Aurora theater shooting, had sophisticated explosives in his apartment that if triggered could have completely consumed the apartment building in flames.  Officials say Holmes had 30 homemade grenades filled with gunpowder. They likened the explosives to those seen in Afghanistan or Iraq.
