Hundreds of helpless geese are being killed in roundups in New York City.  Officials in NYC are taking Canadian Geese from public parks and killing them, claiming it is the only way to keep the birds away from airports.  These roundups started shortly after the famous “miracle on the Hudson” when U.S. Airways flight 1547 collided with birds and was forced to make an emergency landing on the river.

Critics say this is a mass slaughter of voiceless animals and there are more humane solutions.

Rory Freedman is the best-selling author of “Skinny Bitch”, what many people call the most entertaining diet book out there. Freedman breaks down her secrets to staying slim to Jane Velez-Mitchell. Freedman says the key is avoiding the “bad food playing field.”

A father in Kentucky is now facing charges after leaving his 2-year-old son in a hot car. Kenneth Robinson says he put his son in the car first thing in the morning and planned to drop him off at daycare before heading to work.

Somewhere along the way, Robinson says he got distracted and, without thinking, parked at work and went into the office with his son still in the car. The temperature in the car rose to 118 degrees and the boy spent nearly 2 hours inside the sweltering car.  Thankfully, he is OK, but police say another half-hour in the car could have cost that boy his life.

A serial rapist in Los Angeles has attacked again.  Police say the man known as the “teardrop rapist” assaulted as many as 35 girls and women more than 30 times between the years of 1996 and 2005.  Then suddenly in 2005, the attacks seemingly stopped.  Then, a 15-year-old girl was attacked in November, and the DNA results matched with 10 other victims of the “teardrop rapist”.

Now, police have gone public with this information because there has been another attempted attack on June 15.  The man has been described as between the ages of 40 and 55 between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 6 inches. Some of these victims have described teardrop tattoos below one of his eyes.

Mitch Winehouse says his daughter, superstar Amy Winehouse was on her way to sobriety when she tragically and suddenly passed away. 

Amy Winehouse was an extremely talented singer racking up six Grammy awards. But tragically, she died of accidental alcohol poisoning at the age of 27. Her struggles with drugs and alcohol were no secret with Amy’s binges often caught on video or camera and posted across the internet and in magazines around the world.

On September 27, 2004 a sexual predator brutally raped and murdered Brittany Phillips, a 19-year-old college student.  Phillips was raped and suffocated in her 2^nd floor apartment in Tulsa Oklahoma. Police believe the killer either broke in through the French doors, or somehow had access to her apartment.

The killer has never been captured and the police have no suspects.

Police say Bob Bashara, a well-known Michigan real estate mogul, paid $2,000 to find someone to kill his wife’s accused murderer.  Bashara has been charged with solicitation of murder and a judge set his bond at $15 million.

Bob Bashara and his wife, Jane, were married for 26 years. Five months ago, she was found strangled to death in her Mercedes SUV. A handyman who worked for the Basharas, Joseph Gentz, confessed to Jane’s murder. But he later told police that Bob Bashara hired him to murder his wife and even forced him to kill her at gunpoint.

A major arrest in a murder for hire case with an unbelievable twist.  Cops have arrested Michigan real estate mogul, Bob Bashara.  He’s accused of ordering a hit on the handyman who allegedly killed his wife... the same handyman who told cops Bob paid him to kill his wife.

Jane Bashara was found strangled in the back of her Mercedes in a Detroit alley five months ago, hours after her husband reported her missing.  Bob Bashara has long denied any involvement.
