If you haven't heard of Honey Boo Boo yet then you better "redneckognize!" She's the child pageant queen that now has her own show on TLC.

Honey Boo Boo and her self-proclaimed redneck family have completely captivated the country. In fact, more people ages 18-49 watched their show than the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night (that would be when vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan gave his big speech!).

Slim Goodies Diner: New Orleans storm staple

Slim Goodies Diner: New Orleans storm staple

We had just finished getting poured on during our Isaac reporting for Morning Express, and were not due back on the air until Evening Express.  Producer Alex Walker, photographer Jeremy Moorhead and I were absolutely starving, and every restaurant in the city we spotted was shuttered tighter than my water-logged wallet.  The cookie from the hotel where we stayed had apparently worn off.

We started driving west towards the Garden District and finally found the only joint open for food in the whole area, "Slim Goodies," and a line was forming to get in. We parked, stowed our gear, and dodged traffic to get across the street.  We waited on line for a few minutes when a lady yelled from behind the kitchen counter deep inside, "Grab a seat anywhere! Clean the table!  And if you can't find a seat, then make new friends and join 'em!"  It turns out she was the owner, Kappa Horn, and she was great.

Police say nine adults and two children had to be taken to hospitals after a 100-year-old man slammed into them with his car. He was backing up at a grocery store when his Cadillac jumped the curb and plowed into the crowd.

"I'm sorry," Preston Carter told HLN affiliate KTLA. "I lost control of the car. The brakes failed, I think."

Gerard Braud decided to ride out Hurricane Isaac at his house on Lake Pontchartrain in Mandeville, Louisiana. (that's on the north side of the lake). The water flowed over the banks, sending white caps into Braud's driveway.

Even though he stands waist-deep in water in his carport, he says his house could take another eight feet. Check out the video above for his live report on HLN's Evening Express.

Celebs want Republicans to fund the arts!

While Mitt Romney may be the big star at the Republican National Convention, there are a lot of other famous faces making an appearance. Like Tim Daly from "Private Practice" and "Wings" and Evan Handler from "Sex and the City" and "Californication."

The actors are hanging out in Tampa, Fla. with the Creative Coalition, a non-partisan group that's trying to get Republicans to include funding for the arts in their platform.
