Why are some gay men homophobic?

On Wednesday night’s sex and relationship show, a caller asked HLN’s Dr. Drew and his guests why some gay men marry straight women and “ruin their lives?”

Dr. Drew's “Loveline” co-host Simone Bienne responded, “I would say because there's a lot of shame behind it and it's difficult to still come out today in 2012 as a gay man.”

HLN’s Dr. Drew and his special guests took viewer phone calls Wednesday night regarding sex and relationships.

“What they say is, men want a relationship so they can have sex and women want sex so they have a relationship,” Dr. Drew jokingly said. “Everyone is all screwed up in their priorities.”

You’ll be single and lonely forever if you …

A viewer called into HLN’s Dr. Drew Wednesday night stating, “If you aren't looking for a wife, don't mislead her into thinking you're ready for marriage.”

Dr. Drew's “Loveline” co-host Mike Catherwood responded, “[If you let your intentions be known up front], you’re going to be single forever.”

Dealing with sexual trauma flashbacks

On Tuesday night, HLN’s Dr. Drew heard from a caller who said she was molested at a very early age and often has flashbacks of it.

”When you have been traumatized, you will end up going out and re-traumatizing yourself and all of a sudden, something relatively minor will happen and set off this flurry of anxiety and depression and flashbacks and abusive thoughts,” Dr. Drew said.

Dr. Drew: Not seeing histrionic behavior in Sandusky

Lawyers for former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky say they intend to offer testimony from a psychologist who "will explain that the words, tones, requests and statements made in the letters are consistent with a person who suffers from a Histrionic Personality Disorder," according to documents.

"The goal of a person suffering from this disorder in writing those letters would not necessarily be to groom or sexually consummate a relationship in a criminal manner, but rather to satisfy the needs of a psyche belabored by the needs of such a disorder," the defense lawyers write in their motion.

New York Times best-selling author and world-renowned psychic medium James Van Praagh appeared on HLN’s Dr. Drew Monday night. He took viewer calls on grief and the painful process of losing a loved one.

“Some souls that go through life experiences have to leave when they are 10-years-old, when they’re 20-years-old, when they’re 70-years-old -- it’s just experiences on the physical earth,” he said. “The soul is always around us. There is no death. Death is an illusion.”
