In some rare cases, a fixation with eating only healthful foods may be a health hazard.

Consider the following questions posed by Karin Kratina, PhD, RD, LD/N at the National Eating Disorders Association:

Office workers, professional athletes, TV writers, waiters, police officers -- you name it --- they might all claim to be burned out on occasion. But doctors? Yep, they experience it too, according to findings recently published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. 

Of the 7,000 doctors surveyed a year ago, 45.8-percent reported at least one symptom of burnout. The study’s authors say that's an “alarming level.”  

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported this week that 66 people have died from West Nile virus infections this year. The number of those sickened by the virus has now grown to 1,590.

The majority of cases have been found in six states, including Louisiana, South Dakota, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma and Michigan. About half of the infections have occurred in Texas, with 894 cases, 34 deaths.
