Just days after serving her husband with divorce papers, a Kansas mom of two is found shot to death in her burning home. Her husband, a former police officer, is on trial for first-degree murder in her death.

Brett Seacat's defense says his wife, Vashti, was depressed and shot herself after setting the house fire. But her friends tell a different story: They say Vashti had never been happier, because she had finally decided to leave Seacat. HLN is following all of the twists and turns of this trial.
