“Warning: I do dumb things.” That’s the T-shirt a Texas man was wearing when he was arrested on a felony warrant for multiple DWIs.
Lucianno Gutierrez, 66, was taken into custody on February 26 by Bell County deputies. His original DWI cases started in Temple, Texas. However in Bell County, after a third misdemeanor DWI, it can become a felony offense, according to the Bell County Sheriff’s office.
The county attorney reviewed Gutierrez’s case stemming from a November DWI arrest and decided to take it to a grand jury that chose to indict Gutierrez on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated. Bell County deputies served the warrant.
Gutierrez was released Friday on $25,000 bond. He is set to make his first formal court appearance with an arraignment on March 20, according to a Bell County District Clerk Office coordinator.
