Babysitter: 'Slenderman' suspect 'a good girl'

One of the two 12-year-old Wisconsin girls accused of stabbing another girl repeatedly after reading stories on a horror website is incompetent to stand trial, a court-ordered report has found.

Morgan Geyser, who is facing attempted first-degree intentional homicide charges, appeared before a judge on Wednesday to address issues of her competency. While her defense agreed with the conclusions found in the report, the prosecution asked for a full hearing on the issue.

Judge Michael Bohren granted that request and scheduled another hearing for August 1. He also granted another request by the prosecution to have Geyser undergo additional psychological examination.

Attorneys for the other girl accused in the case, Annisa Weier, have yet to raise questions about her competency but have scheduled a status hearing for their client.

Police say the pair of 12-year-olds lured a friend into the woods on May 31, stabbed her 19 times and left her to crawl to her own rescue.

The three girls attended the same middle school and even went to a sleepover together the night before the incident, according to police.

Geyser and Weier admitted to planning the attack for months, the criminal complaint states. They told authorities that they visited a website that posts horror stories and that they believed they needed to kill in order to prove their dedication to a man on the site named "Slenderman," according to the complaint.

Slenderman is, in reality, a fictional character and Internet meme that appears in horror stories, videos and images.

Both girls have been charged as adults in the case.
