No, your eyes are not deceiving you: That is a black bear chilling out in a hammock like he's frittering the day away on vacation.
Photographer Rafael Torres tells CNN affiliate WESH that he followed the bear as it climbed into the hammock at a home in Daytona Beach, Florida. He took the pics from about 60 feet away, but the bear seemed cool with the situation, just hanging out in the hammock for 20 minutes or so, taking in the night air. Then around 8:15 p.m., it made its way back into the nearby woods.
The bear has been spotted around the Pebble Creek neighborhood a few times since Wednesday. The owner of the hammock, Vincent James, said that the forest visitor came back and forth a few times.
"He got in the hammock like he was a tourist or something," James said. "Then something spooked him and he ran right back there. Then half an hour later I come back and I saw there he is in the hammock again."
