Terry Richardson

Sex for pics? That's the offer a fashion model implies was allegedly made to her by famous photographer Terry Richardson.

On Sunday, Emma Appleton tweeted a screengrab of a Facebook message she received from an account with Richardson's name, which promised, "If i can f*** you i will book you in ny for a.shoot for Vogue."

Appleton wrote "Um what" alongside the image, which was rapidly circulated online. Her Twitter account appears to have been deleted since then, taking the tweet with it, though it lives on in countless retweets.

Richardson spokeswoman Candice Marks denies the provocative celebrity photographer sent the message, saying "This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text." But Vogue has gone ahead and distanced themselves from Richardson. "We have no plans to work with him in the future," communications director for U.S. Vogue, Hildy Kuryk, told BuzzFeed.

Richardson, or "Uncle Terry" as he apparently likes to be called by the models he shoots, is known for his highly suggestive photos, trademark plaid shirt-and-handlebar mustache look, and mainstream videos including Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and Kate Upton's viral "Cat Daddy" clip, and he's been the subject of claims similar to Applegate's before, which you can read more about right here, here and here.

Before apparently shutting down her Twitter account, Appleton tweeted that in her five years in the industry, she'd never received any kind of proposition before.

A clear majority of the replies were critical of Richardson, though enough rolled in that brushed his alleged actions aside as merely typical behavior for him that Appleton later tweeted she was "Beginning to wish I hadn't posted that... it doesn't matter who you are or what the industry is, just be a decent human being."

Before the 19-year-old's account went offline, she wrote, "The fact people think this is acceptable blows my f***ing mind. See ya."

Most of the responses to Richardson's alleged message were far less forgiving of the photographer:
