Hi, folks! Former 'Today' show weatherman Willard Scott is here to tell you that love is not dead. In fact, love is amazing. Love is great. Love is being a ridiculously happy newlywed at the age of 80.
Scott, a newly minted octogenarian, wed his longtime girlfriend Paris Keena on April 1. Scott and Keena have been together for 11 years, but first met way back in 1977 when she worked for the NBC affiliate in Washington, D.C., before Willard was even on the "Today" lineup. The two kept in touch on and off for years, and romance bloomed in 2003.
They say penguins mate for life, and Scott has proven himself to be something of a penguin: He was previously married to Mary Dwyer Scott from 1959 until her death in 2002.
The whole "Today" family was bursting with joy for the new couple, and Keena really put the cherry on the top of this ridiculously sweet story:
"Our whole life has been a honeymoon," she told the show.
